January Records Coldest Morning

Delhi witnessed a sharp dip in temperatures this morning, marking the coldest day of January 2026 so far.

Safdarjung observatory recorded a minimum of 5.8°C, nearly 3°C lower than the previous day and the lowest since December 5, 2025.

Palam airport was colder at 4.8°C, around 5°C below normal, making it the lowest this season. Cold day conditions continued for the second straight day at Palam and Lodi Road.

Several areas including Jafarpur, Ayanagar and Ridge reported temperatures below 6°C.

Fog in suspension persisted for the fifth day, but visibility remained adequate, keeping flights unaffected.

Dry and cold weather will continue, with similar conditions likely over the next three days.
