Rain and Thunderstorm in Mumbai

Mumbai, known for its heavy monsoon rains, has been relatively dry for most of September.

However, the city experienced scattered heavy showers yesterday, with the Santacruz observatory recording 75mm of rain, while Colaba received 16mm.

More showers are expected in the coming days, gradually increasing in intensity.

A low-pressure area is forming over the Bay of Bengal, likely to trigger a monsoon surge along the Konkan coast.

Mumbai may see heavier rains on the 25th, followed by moderate showers.

The rains are expected to taper off by the end of September, helping the city near its monthly rainfall target.
