Andhra Coast on Alert!
Cyclone Michaung makes Landfall

Cyclone Michaung in TN

Cyclone Michaung has unleashed substantial rainfall along the southern East Coast, notably drenching Chennai with a staggering 50 cm in just two days—double its monthly average.

As the storm crosses near Ongole and Kavali, the swift landfall process is underway, expected to conclude in about two hours. The storm's compact nature accelerates this progression.

The eyewall clouds have penetrated inland around Ongole and Bapatla, forewarning heavy to very heavy rains and potent winds over Guntur and the Krishna Delta. Vigilance is crucial.

Following landfall, a subsequent weakening and northeastward turn predict heavy rains in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Anticipate relief on the Andhra Coast approximately six hours post-landfall.
