Every year our cities face moderate to severe air pollution starting October. Is there a way to prepare for the "smog season"?

  • Start paying attention to the Air Quality Index (AQI) indicator for your city. Weather & Radar provides real-time and forecast AQI values for all locations in India.
  • Based on the AQI you can take decisions whether to spend time outdoors, visit a particular place or relocate your sports activity.
  • Get some indoor plants like snake plant, areca palm, aloe vera or tulsi. These plants not only produce a lot of oxygen, but also add freshness and beautify your home. They are also affordable and durable.
  • If you live in a city with severe air pollution, it may be advisable for you to purchase an air purifier. These are rather expensive gadgets which need timely maintenance, but can help you improve your indoor air quality.
  • Wearing an anti-pollution mask like FFP1 or N95 can help you inhale less pollutants. You will be well advised to stock on such masks in advance.

Even though the air quality is still satisfactory in most of the cities, soon enough the refreshing effect of monsoon will wither and AQI will start to worsen. Weather & Radar India wishes you good health. Stay safe!
