Despite recent showers, Bengaluru’s pre-monsoon rainfall remains below normal. Between May 1 and May 19, the city observatory recorded only 58 mm rainfall, while the HAL observatory measured a mere 9.2 mm against the monthly normal of 110.4 mm.

Rain activity is likely to weaken between May 22 and May 26, with only isolated showers expected. However, weather models indicate another increase in thunderstorm activity on and after May 27, 2026.
