The northern plains of India, including parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi, are bracing for heavy to very heavy rains and thunderstorms in the coming days.

Starting today, inclement weather with severe lightning, gusty winds, and downpours will prevail, continuing through tomorrow with brief breaks.

The monsoon trough, shifting northward, is the main trigger for this weather activity.

Despite this severe spell, improvements are expected from August 2nd, with lighter rainfall forecasted thereafter.

Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, currently rain-deficient, will see partial relief.
