Heat on Diwali?

It is Deepawali time, but it is still so hot!

By the end of October this year, unusually warm weather persists across North India, as well as in Gujarat.

Normally, during Diwali, there's a slight chill in the air and people wear light woolens, but this time, temperatures in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat have risen above 20°C, which is higher than usual.

Forecast for Diwali

In Delhi, the minimum temperature recorded is 17.4°C, while typically, it drops below 15°C during this period. Cities like Amritsar, Rohtak, and others are also experiencing minimum temperatures around 7°C higher than the seasonal norm.

A weak western disturbance passing over northern mountainous areas has temporarily paused the cooling effect. Once this system moves away around October 31 and November 1, a slight dip in temperatures is expected, though temperatures may rise again between November 2 and 5.

For the next ten days, dry and warm conditions are expected to persist across the plains and the real winter chill may only arrive by mid-November.
