Cold Grip in Northern Parts after Rain

After the active weather took over the northern parts temperatures are likely to fall over the weekend.

After intense rain and thunderstorms on Friday, Saturday will bring a sharp change in weather across North India.

Rainfall will largely subside over the plains, but the impact will be felt through a steep drop in temperatures.

Cold air will sweep across Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and west Uttar Pradesh, keeping day and night temperatures well below normal.

Minimum temperatures on Saturday night will fall sharply, setting the stage for near-freezing conditions by Sunday morning.

In the hills, snowfall will continue over higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, causing icy roads and travel disruptions.

Strong, gusty winds may persist in parts of the northwest, adding to the chill factor.

Elsewhere, most parts of the country will remain dry, with patchy fog and lingering smog during early morning hours in the north and northeast.
