A cyclonic circulation near the Strait of Malacca is set to develop into a low-pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea within 24 hours.

A cyclonic circulation near the Strait of Malacca is set to develop into a low-pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman Sea within 24 hours.

The system is expected to intensify further, moving toward the south-central Bay by November 25.

With warm sea temperatures and favourable wind conditions, it could strengthen into a significant storm early next week.

Its eventual track remains uncertain, but past November cyclones from this zone have impacted Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, and Bangladesh.

Coastal communities are advised to stay alert as the system continues to evolve and potential cyclone formation becomes more likely.
