Delhi Set for Season’s Hottest Spell

Temperatures in Delhi about to touch 39 Degrees

Delhi has witnessed pleasant weather through the first half of April, with day temperatures mostly below normal.

The highest so far was 36.8°C on April 2. Over the recent weekend, Safdarjung recorded 34.7°C, still below average, while nights remained cooler by 3–4°C.

However, conditions are now changing. With no active Western Disturbance over the plains and weakening surface winds, temperatures are set to rise sharply.

Bright sunshine in the coming days may push the mercury beyond 38°C, with 40°C likely between April 17 and 19.

Despite the rise, chances of a heatwave remain low this month, as peak temperatures may stay below 41°C.
