Delhi Shivers as Cold Wave Tightens Grip

Temperatures in Delhi drop significantly

Cold wave conditions intensified across Delhi this morning, covering most parts of the capital.

Safdarjung recorded the coldest morning of the season and the last two years at 3.2°C, its first sub-4°C reading this winter.

Palam followed closely at 3.3°C, marking the second consecutive cold wave day, after plunging to 3°C yesterday, the lowest for NCR this season.

Most areas of Delhi are expected to remain between 3°C and 4°C tomorrow, likely registering a third straight cold wave day.

Cold wave or severe cold wave conditions may persist till the weekend. Slight relief is possible around January 16–17 as winds shift.

A bigger weather change, with chances of winter rain, may arrive between January 18 and 21, 2026.
