The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for severe heatwave conditions until June 12.

Adding to the discomfort, the air quality dipped to the 'poor' category, making outdoor exposure risky. While residents await monsoon relief, the forecasts that meaningful rainfall and temperature relief are unlikely before mid-June.

Citizens are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposure, and check daily forecasts.

Vulnerable populations including children and the elderly should take extra precautions.
