Delhi Witnesses Unexpected Showers

Unseasonal winter rains have gripped parts of North and West India today.

Light to moderate showers were recorded across Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and East Rajasthan since last night. Overcast skies and scattered rains are expected to persist throughout the day.

What is bringing in the rain?

A cyclonic circulation over Delhi, South Haryana, and Northeast Rajasthan, supported by moist winds from the Arabian Sea, has also brought unseasonal showers to Gujarat and South Rajasthan.

Cities like Ahmedabad, Udaipur, and Mount Abu saw light sprinkles.

As rains ease by Sunday, colder northwesterly winds will return, signaling the onset of chilly conditions for the New Year.
