Multiple systems, including cyclonic circulations over Assam and Bangladesh, along with moist winds from the Bay of Bengal, are driving this activity. Day temperatures have dropped to the low and mid-20s.

Rain and thunderstorms will persist until April 2, followed by a brief break on April 3–4. Activity will intensify again from April 5 onward, raising concerns over disruptions to the IPL match in Guwahati and upcoming state polls on April 9.
