Winter is incomplete without roasted corn (bhutta)

Temperatures have dropped all over the country and our kitchens turned to seasonal winter delicacies.

Our meals and snacks change according to the prevailing season and the availability of local produce. Most of the food we eat in winter is aimed at keeping us warm and provide additional energy during the harsh months.

Bajra raab is a popular winter drink from Rajasthan and Gujarat made with pearl millet flour. It builds immunity and heals your body from common winter ailments.

Makki ki roti and sarson ka saag is an absolute staple for the cold winter months of Punjab. Corn is widely used in many dishes during this season. It helps to regulate blood sugar as well as keep your thyroid function healthy.

Shakarkandi (sweet potato) chaat vendors can be seen in most of North Indian cities during winters. A pinch of masalas and lemon juice make it really a mouth-watering and healthy snack!
