Ganga Warning Level
Flood Threat Rises Across Uttar Pradesh

Flood concerns remain high across parts of Uttar Pradesh as heavy monsoon rain and rising rivers continue to affect several districts.

In Varanasi, the Ganga has crossed its warning level, with the water recorded at 70.29 metres. Boat operations have been suspended, while residents and visitors have been advised to stay away from flooded ghats and strong river currents.

The flood threat has also increased in Prayagraj, where rising levels of the Ganga and Yamuna, along with upstream water releases, are keeping authorities on alert.

Elsewhere in Uttar Pradesh, flooding has affected thousands of people, including around 20,000 in Ballia.

People in low-lying areas should follow local advisories, avoid flooded roads and riverbanks, and move to safer areas if instructed.
