Stay Safe During Heat Waves

Many parts of India have been under a spell of prolonged heat waves since March. What are the best ways to protect yourself from the damaging effects of excessive heat? Here are some tips:

  • Keep yourself hydrated! Drink a lot of water, but also home-made or traditional drinks like lemon water, butter milk, lassi or coconut water.
  • Cover your head: wear a cap, a hat or a dupatta to protect your head from direct sunlight.
  • Wear light-colored, loose clothes, preferably with long sleeves to prevent any sunburns.
  • Never leave small children or animals in a parked vehicle or direct sunlight. Keep them hydrated at all times.

Make sure you stay updated with all the local weather news. You can also check the UV-Index on our app. Be careful and take all the necessary precautions!
