Heatwave Continues in Gujarat

A severe heatwave is scorching parts of Gujarat and West Rajasthan, with Barmer recording the season’s highest temperature at 46.4°C.

Rajkot hit 46.2°C, the highest in Gujarat. Other cities like Ahmedabad, Amreli, and Surendranagar are also facing extreme heat, with temperatures 3–5°C above normal.

Across the border, hot winds from Pakistan are worsening conditions. Rajasthan’s border towns like Jaisalmer, Phalodi, and Jodhpur have also crossed 44°C.

Relief is expected from 1st May in Rajasthan through dust storms and thundershowers, peaking between 4th and 6th May.

Gujarat will remain hot till 3rd May, followed by a gradual drop in temperatures due to changing weather in Rajasthan.
