Heavy rain is likely over North Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand and nearby areas initially. Between August 14 and 16, rainfall may spread across Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh.

From August 17, the main rain belt could shift closer to the Himalayan foothills, bringing moderate to heavy showers from Uttarakhand and West Uttar Pradesh to Bihar, Sikkim and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Meanwhile, rainfall activity may reduce considerably across western and central India as a temporary monsoon break-like pattern develops.
