July 2025 Deficit : Water Crisis

Bengaluru is grappling with a severe monsoon deficit in July 2025.

Despite an early onset, rainfall has been scarce, with only 2.1 mm recorded in the first nine days of July against a normal of 112.9 mm.

June was similarly dry, registering just 21 mm compared to the average 106.5 mm. Both urban and rural districts face a shortfall exceeding 60%.

With no active weather systems expected, the dry spell may persist beyond mid-July, raising concerns over water scarcity.

Residents are urged to conserve water and stay updated with official advisories.
