Monsoon to Begin on a Balanced Note in June

Monsoon 2026 is expected to begin on a normal and balanced note in June.

While there is a 70% chance of normal rain, distribution may remain uneven across regions. Western Ghats, including Konkan, Goa, Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala, along with parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, may receive good rainfall.

However, areas like Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and parts of Madhya Pradesh could see below-normal rain.

This may impact early sowing of crops like soybean and cotton. Overall, timely monsoon onset will support Kharif sowing, but farmers in low-rain regions should prepare for water management.
