How to protect our skin from the sun? This question is a recurring one: just after Holi as it gets hotter our skin starts feeling the brunt, and we again look for old and new solutions to protect it! First of all it is always advisable to look at the Temperature Forecast and UV-Index for the next days to be prepared.

When you know it’s going to be hot and UV is reaching dangerous level take the following precautions:

  • Skin needs nourishment from inside: Drink a lot of water! Don’t substitute it with fizzy drinks or cold coffee! However, the good old nimbu paani. coconut water or sugarcane juice is just the right thing!
  • UV-Protection: wear light, long-sleeved clothing made of natural materials like linen, cotton or khadi. Also don’t forget to cover your head with a hat, cap, scarf or a dupatta while going out. Apply sunscreen on the exposed parts of the body.
  • Avoid eating greasy and oily food. Try switching to a lighter diet with fruit and vegetables which contain a lot of water. Eat more of watermelon, cucumbers and leafy vegetables!
