Temperatures Set to Soar Above 40°C

Delhi is set for a sharp rise in temperatures starting today, with maximums expected to cross 40°C daily and reach up to 43°C by the weekend.

This is around 5°C above normal, indicating heatwave conditions across the region. Safdarjung recorded 39.5°C yesterday, while some areas already crossed 41°C.

Dry weather, clear skies, and hot southwesterly winds are driving the heat, with no active western disturbance to bring relief.

‘Loo’ winds are likely during afternoon hours between April 21 and 24. A weak western disturbance may bring slight relief over the weekend, with marginal temperature drop and possible pre-monsoon activity between April 25 and 28.
