Thunderstorms, Rain to Intensify Across Eastern States

Pre-monsoon activity is increasing across India, bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms.

North, Northwest, Northeast India and the South Peninsula saw active weather, which will now extend to South Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha.

In the next two days, weather systems will shift, reducing activity in western and southern regions while intensifying over the Indo-Gangetic plains and eastern states.

Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha, facing rainfall deficit this March, may see some relief. However, thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds and possible hailstorms could impact crops and safety.

Moist winds from the Bay of Bengal and cyclonic circulations are fueling this activity. Conditions are expected to improve from March 21.
