Ugadi and Gudi Padwa 2025

Ugadi and Gudi Padwa, celebrated on 30th March 2025, mark the beginning of the New Year in different parts of India.

Ugadi, primarily observed in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, is a day filled with joy, prayers, and special dishes like Ugadi pachadi, symbolizing the mix of sweet, sour, salty, and bitter experiences of life.

The day begins with cleaning homes and adorning them with mango leaves, followed by visiting temples.

On the same day, Gudi Padwa is celebrated in Maharashtra and Goa. People hoist the "Gudi," a decorated flag, to welcome prosperity and good fortune for the coming year.

Both festivals are marked by vibrant processions, traditional music, and feasts, bringing people together to celebrate new beginnings and cherish cultural traditions.
