Vidarbha Emerges as Hottest Pocket, 40°C

Temperatures rising in Maharashtra. Vidarbha experiencing early summer like temperatures

Central and southern parts of India are witnessing a sharp rise in temperatures, with mercury levels consistently crossing 37°-38°C over the past few days.

Earlier, interior Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh were the hottest regions, with Erode, Madurai and Anantapur recording highs around 38°C.

Now, the heat has expanded into central India, making Vidarbha the hottest pocket in the country.

Akola recorded the highest maximum at 38.5°C, 3°-4°C above normal. Amraoti and Wardha also crossed 38°C.

Weather conditions may push temperatures close to 40°C over Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalaseema in the coming days. However, official heat wave conditions have not been declared yet.
