We Are Set for a Stunning Cold Supermoon

Skywatchers across across the country are ready for a rare celestial treat as the Cold Supermoon rises on 4 December 2025.

This is the third and final supermoon of the year, and one of the largest, appearing brighter and bigger due to the Moon’s close approach to Earth at around 222,000 miles.

The Moon reaches peak illumination at 6:15 PM, shining from the Taurus zodiac. Clear skies on 4 and 5 December will offer ideal visibility, especially during moonrise.

Known as the Cold Moon, the name reflects the seasonal chill and long winter nights. Stargazers can enjoy the view from an open eastern horizon and capture stunning photos.

This event also sets the stage for the Geminid meteor shower arriving on 13–14 December.
