Will there be Monsoon Break Soon?

After days of heavy and intense weather across India, there might be a break in the monsoon during August.

India may see a short monsoon break in the coming days.

This happens when rain slows down or stops in many parts of the country for a few days.

Experts say this could happen because there are no strong weather systems forming over the Bay of Bengal or Arabian Sea.

Also, a weak MJO (Madden-Julian Oscillation) and neutral IOD (Indian Ocean Dipole) mean there’s not much support from oceans to boost rainfall.

However, this break is normal during monsoon season and may not last long. Rain is likely to return once a new system develops.
