Alert for GJ, MH, and KA

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for coastal regions of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Karnataka due to rising temperatures.

This is unusual for February, as temperatures are already reaching summer-like levels. In Gujarat, cities like Surat and Veraval recorded temperatures above 36°C, while Ahmedabad saw temperatures 2-3°C higher than normal.

Mumbai and Goa are also experiencing warm and humid conditions.

Typically, summer starts in March, but this year, January and February have been warmer than usual.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against heat exposure.
