AQI Turns ‘Severe’
Toxic Smog Chokes Delhi-NCR

Delhi's air turns hazardous

Delhi and NCR are engulfed in thick smog as air quality plummets into the ‘severe’ category, with AQI readings above 400 across most areas.

The pollution level is nearly 30 times higher than WHO’s safe limit.

The Delhi government has activated GRAP-III, restricting construction and tightening industrial checks.

What is causing this?

Factors like vehicle emissions, industrial smoke, crop residue burning, and calm winds have trapped pollutants close to the ground.

Residents are facing eye irritation and breathing problems, prompting experts to urge caution. Citizens are advised to wear N95 masks, stay indoors when possible, and use air purifiers to reduce exposure.
