The Northeast Monsoon has arrived with force this season.

Although it was officially declared on October 15, favorable weather conditions existed earlier.

However, the continued presence of the Southwest Monsoon delayed the official arrival over Southeast Peninsular India.

In Bengaluru, light rains have persisted for a week, with moderate showers on October 14, followed by heavier rainfall on the 15th.

The city recorded 66.1mm of rain, causing temporary flooding in some areas.

A depression over the Bay of Bengal and a cyclonic circulation near Coastal Karnataka are expected to keep the rains active in Bengaluru over the coming week, with occasional heavy downpours likely.
