Air pollution often increases around Diwali, with several cities experiencing poor air quality during the festive season.

Firecrackers release smoke and harmful particles into the air. Vehicle emissions, dust and seasonal crop burning can add to pollution.

Cooler temperatures and weaker winds may also trap pollutants closer to the ground.

Checking the Air Quality Index (AQI) becomes especially important during this period, particularly for children, older adults and people with respiratory conditions.

High AQI levels can cause breathing difficulties, eye irritation and coughing.

Celebrate Diwali while keeping your family's health in mind!
