Chilly Nights Ahead: Temperature To Drop

A weather system known as a "western disturbance" is approaching the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh region today.

It will bring rain and thundershowers to the northern mountains, foothills of Punjab and Haryana, and parts of their plains. Some areas may only see cloudy skies.

This weather pattern will last for about three days, with most of the activity happening on the night of November 9th and into the morning of November 10th. Expect snow in higher regions above 12,000 feet and rain in lower hills.

Some areas in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh will also experience rainfall. Delhi may have light showers during this period.

Night temperatures will rise by about 2°C over the next two days and then drop. This will bring a slight chill to the region. Temperatures could reach as low as 10°C-12°C in many places.

Between November 10th and 13th, surface and lower-level winds will strengthen, helping to disperse pollutants to some extent. No more western disturbances are expected to affect the weather until November 22nd.
