100,000 People Evacuated
Cyclone Arnab Makes Landfall

Cyclone Arnab made landfall along India's east coast on Wednesday morning, 28 October, bringing strong winds and torrential rainfall. Nearly 100,000 people were evacuated ahead of the storm.

Coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh have reported widespread storm damage and power cuts. Heavy rainfall has also increased the risk of flooding, with some areas potentially receiving over 300 mm of rain within a short period.

Cyclone Arnab is expected to gradually weaken over the coming days as it moves northwards.

However, heavy rainfall could continue across parts of eastern and northern India, increasing the risk of flooding and landslides. Higher Himalayan regions may also experience heavy snowfall.

Residents are advised to follow official weather warnings and avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas.
