Delhi Still Awaits Its First Spell of Fog

Delhi Winter Fog Delay
Delhi Still Awaits Its First Spell of Fog

Delhi awaits winter fog

Delhi continues to miss its typical winter fog, with visibility dips mainly caused by smog and pollution rather than genuine fog formation.

At Palam Airport, visibility has occasionally fallen below 1000 metres, but the absence of high humidity, low winds, and a western disturbance has kept fog away.

Fog conditions on the weather radar

The capital normally records about 12 foggy days in November, rising to 19 in December and 21 in January.

However, November 2025 has been largely dry, with no active systems over Punjab, Haryana, or Delhi.

Meteorologists expect the first proper winter fog to appear only in the second half of December if favourable weather conditions align.
