The northeast monsoon has brought heavy rains to both the coast and interiors of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, as well as moderate to heavy showers in Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, North Karnataka, and Telangana.

This weather activity is likely to continue for the next 48 hours and then reduce. Chennai, Bengaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram are expected to have moderate thundershowers over the next 24 hours.

The heavy rains are due to two cyclonic circulations, one over the East-Central Arabian Sea and the other over the Comorin region. The monsoon activity will last for the next 48 hours and then reduce.
