Bengaluru Rain Update
Dry November May End with Weekend Showers

Bengaluru can see heavy rain this weekend

Bengaluru has seen an unusually dry November, recording just 2 mm of rainfall against the normal 64.5 mm.

The last time such low rainfall occurred was in November 2016, with only 1.5 mm. However, relief is on the horizon as Cyclonic Storm Ditwah, now near Sri Lanka, is expected to influence weather across South Interior Karnataka.

The storm’s outer bands may bring moderate to heavy showers over Bengaluru and nearby areas between 29 and 30 November.

Cloudy skies will develop by Friday evening, with intermittent rain expected through the weekend and early next week.

On the weather radar

Weather is likely to clear by 5–6 December, ending the long dry spell for the city.
