Minimum temperatures continue to fluctuate across the northern plains, with several regions slipping into early cold wave conditions.

Bathinda and Hisar recorded the lowest minimums at 4°C, nearly 4–5°C below normal.

Other cities such as Amritsar, Patiala, Ludhiana, Pathankot, Firozpur, Chandigarh, Narnaul, Karnal and Churu also saw single-digit minimums around 5°C.

As per criteria, temperatures below 10°C with a 4.5°C departure, or 4°C and lower, qualify as a cold wave conditions now observed in many Punjab and Haryana pockets.

No active western disturbance will impact the plains this week, but cold winds behind passing systems may cause a sharper temperature drop early next week.
