First Pre-Monsoon Showers in Maharashtra

Maharashtra is set to experience its first pre-monsoon showers between April 1 and 3, bringing much-needed relief after a dry March. A cyclonic circulation over Marathwada and a trough extending to Madhya Maharashtra will trigger light to moderate rains, thunderstorms, and lightning.

While this will disrupt the ongoing Rabi crop harvesting, it will also improve soil moisture, benefiting the upcoming Kharif crops.

Areas like Vidarbha, Marathwada, and parts of South Konkan may see intense rainfall. By April 5, the weather will clear, reducing the heatwave conditions. These showers will play a crucial role in replenishing groundwater levels and preparing the land for future sowing.
