Flash Flood Horror in Uttarkashi

A sudden and powerful cloudburst hit Dharali village in Uttarkashi (Kheer Ganga valley) on August 5, 2025, causing a massive flash flood.

Water sweeped down the hills, sweeping away homes, hotels, and shops in minutes.

Villagers described scenes of panic as water surged through their homes. Rescue teams from SDRF, the Army, and local authorities are working day and night to reach survivors and clear the rubble.

IMD has issued a red alert for Uttarakhand until August 10, forecasting continued heavy rain and possible landslides.

Authorities urge residents and travellers to stay away from rivers and unstable slopes until the situation normalises.
