Fresh Snowfall Covers Kashmir, Himachal

Fresh snowfall has blanketed higher reaches of Kashmir, including Gulmarg, Sonamarg, and Sinthan Top, while lower areas like Srinagar saw rainfall.

Himachal Pradesh also recorded rain in cities like Shimla and Manali, with snowfall in Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur.

This late-season snow has transformed previously dry landscapes across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

More rain and snowfall are expected over the next week due to active western disturbances.

Peak activity is likely on March 19 and 20, with chances of hailstorms in mid-hills and heavy snowfall in higher altitudes.

Travel disruptions may occur in tourist areas, while water sources are expected to benefit from this fresh spell.
