Goa has recorded 36% above-normal rainfall in October, with weather conditions resembling the peak monsoon months.

The state received over 300 mm of rain this month, far higher than its average.

Frequent spells of heavy showers and thunderstorms were driven by active monsoon systems over the Arabian Sea and peninsular India.

Meteorologists suggest that moisture-laden winds and successive low-pressure systems contributed to the unusual rainfall.

IMD indicates that rain may reduce gradually as November approaches, bringing clearer skies and slightly cooler evenings across the coastal state.
