Heat Waves, Dry Weather What's Next?

March 2025 was very hot and dry in Rajasthan, with a large rainfall shortfall—48% in the west and 69% in the east.

A short heat wave from March 10-15 made things worse, but temperatures later stabilized. Over the next few days, temperatures will rise, though heat waves are not expected immediately.

From April 5 onwards, hot winds from Balochistan and South Sindh will bring heat wave conditions to parts of western and southern Rajasthan, including Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Jodhpur.

1/2
Gujarat is experiencing intense heatwave conditions, with temperatures soaring well above 40°C in many regions.

On April 3, light rain or thunderstorms may occur in northeastern Rajasthan, but it won't cool things down much.

The heat will continue until late April when pre-monsoon activities like dust storms and thunderstorms may offer some relief.
