Cities like Nagpur, Wardha, Barmer and Jaisalmer also witnessed severe heatwave conditions.

Weather systems capable of bringing relief are currently weak, but changes are expected later this week. A fresh circulation may develop over the Bay of Bengal around May 28, while a western disturbance is likely to arrive over North India.

These systems may gradually reduce temperatures and trigger some relief toward the end of May across inland parts of the country.
