India recorded its warmest October in 124 years, with an average minimum temperature of 21.85°C, higher than the normal 20.01°C.

October 2024 witnessed several weather-related activities, including delayed monsoon withdrawal, multiple low-pressure systems, and a lack of western disturbances. These activities contributed to unusually warm nights, especially in Northwest and Central India.

Cyclone Dana also impacted temperatures and brought heavy rain to Odisha and West Bengal.

Looking ahead, we expect warmer-than-normal temperatures in November, with southern states like Karnataka and Kerala likely to see above-average rainfall.

In Delhi, pollution surged as firecracker use, industrial pollution and stubble burning from the neighboring states caused the Air Quality Index (AQI) to exceed 350 in many areas, creating a hazardous environment for residents, especially morning joggers and cyclists.
