Monsoon Retreats Early from Northwest India

The southwest monsoon has begun its early withdrawal from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi around October 10, marking the end of the season for Northwest India.

However, a developing weather system in the Bay of Bengal is keeping conditions active in the east and central regions.

The system may intensify into a low-pressure area or storm, likely bringing heavy rain over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Uttar Pradesh in the coming days.

While dry weather will prevail in the northwest, residents in central and eastern India should stay alert for intense showers and thunderstorms as this new system progresses inland.
