Delhi and NCR remained largely dry during the past 24 hours after receiving rain for five consecutive days from August 4 to 8.

The city has already received 230.5 mm this month, exceeding August’s normal rainfall of 226.8 mm.

More showers are expected this week as the monsoon trough remains close to Delhi. A low-pressure area over central India and a Western Disturbance over the northern mountains may also influence the weather.

Rain and thunderstorms could become more widespread on Tuesday, with some heavier spells possible. Intermittent light rain may continue later in the week, while the Independence Day forecast remains uncertain.
