More Showers Ahead in Bengaluru

Bengaluru witnessed very heavy rain and thunderstorms on April 29 evening, bringing much-needed relief after a dry spell.

Rainfall was uneven across the city, with a record 111 mm recorded in Bengaluru city, 34 mm at HAL, and just 13 mm at Devanahalli airport. April, usually the hottest month, saw intense pre-monsoon activity towards the end, surpassing the normal monthly rainfall of 61.7 mm.

Weather systems like a north-south trough and moist winds from the south are driving this change. More rain and thunderstorms are expected over the next 4–5 days.

May is also likely to begin on a stormy note, with frequent showers across Bengaluru and nearby districts.
