Mumbai continues to enjoy comfortable winter weather, unlike the intense cold seen across North India in January.

Being a coastal city at a lower latitude, Mumbai remains largely unaffected by western disturbances. Any brief dip in temperature is usually linked to cold air from northern plains, but such effects are short-lived.

This January, minimum temperatures have mostly stayed around seasonal norms. Santacruz recorded 15.9°C today, the lowest so far this month, while Colaba dipped to 19°C.

A weak cyclonic circulation over the Arabian Sea poses no threat. With sea breezes dominating and cold winds unlikely to reach Konkan, night temperatures are expected to stay between 17°C and 19°C.

January 2026 may end up as the warmest in a decade.
