Red alert for coastal Maharashtra coinciding with the festival of Janmashtami

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an red alert for the Konkan region on August 16, coinciding with the Janmashtami festival.

Districts including Raigad, Ratnagiri, and parts of Sindhudurg are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds.
